Welcome to Episode 14 of the Gent’s Talk podcast. This is another “Gent’s Segment” discussion with host Samir and co-host Matthew. This week they start the episode off with the 5 Love Languages Quiz.
Knowing the results of this quiz for immediate friends/family can also be beneficial because it is crucial to show those close to you that you care for them. A key to love and happiness is showing others you care and being able to do so in a way that they can resonate with. Take a few minutes to take the quiz, and then check out episode 14.
The Secret To Love That Lasts
The concept of love languages was developed by Gary Chapman in his book The 5 Love Languages: The Secret to Love That Lasts. In his book, he argues that not everyone communicates love in the same way, and people have different ways they prefer to receive love. He has studied these five unique styles of communicating love from his experience in marriage counselling and linguistics. The five categories are:
- Words of Affirmation
- Quality Time
- Acts of Services
- Gifts
- Physical Touch

The importance of taking the time to go over this with your partner is the fact that this improves communication, but more importantly, it will show you and your partner what you both should do without being asked. The key is to regularly communicate and ask what your partner needs to feel seen, heard, validated, and loved.
