What is body sculpting?
First, let’s establish exactly what body sculpting is. It’s an approach that focuses on enhancing the shape and contours of your body through a combination of exercise, diet, and lifestyle choices. Unlike crash diets or extreme workout routines, body sculpting aims for sustainable and long-term results. It’s about sculpting your body to achieve a well-proportioned and toned appearance, rather than simply losing weight. But there’s also an innovative way to sculpt your body in a non-invasive way.

That’s where the TruFlex treatments from Cutera comes in. A non-invasive, comfortable way to build muscle mass and definition. The treatment sessions are quick (average of 15 minutes), you can isolate and target areas you want to improve, and you can treat multiple areas simultaneously. What’s more, you can have little to no downtime. This becomes a quick and effective way to integrate additional boosts to your physique throughout your week regardless of how hectic your schedule may be.
TruFlex Treatments
Firstly, let’s break down exactly how it works. You can choose from several options and intensity depending on your base physical abilities. Options include your biceps and triceps, abs (upper, lower and those pesky obliques), glutes and thighs. TruFlex is a unique muscle stimulation technology that features adjustable intensities. The expert on site will place a series of handpieces across the designated areas targeting multiple small and large muscle groups.
Once you’re in and set, you can choose from three different options. Prep, tone or sculpt.

Prep
Creates a twisting motion to warm up, stretch the muscles and slowly build a tolerance to muscle contractions. Similar to a pre-workout stretch to maximize results.
Tone
Contracts the muscles, holds them to the point of exhaustion, and then allows the muscles to relax, increasing strength and enhancing endurance. Similar to exercises that increase strength and muscle endurance.
Sculpt
Increases muscle mass by using fast, deep, sequential contractions of the muscles. Similar to intense exercises that break down and build muscle fibers for increased mass.

Considerations
Like with anything else, each session is designed specific to your individual needs. TruFlex adjusts to your fitness level, shape and goals. However anyone with a pacemaker or implanted metallic or electronic devices cannot participate. Similarly, if you suffer from epilepsy, cancerous lesions or had any recent surgical procedures, then this won’t be for you. In terms of the number of treatments, while up to 8 body areas can be treated at the same time, for optimal results, the best practice is to sign up for at least 4 treatments as that is the recommended minimum. But feel free to do as many as you like. The treatment itself, as mentioned, can be intense at times. Remember your muscles will be contracting. With the expert on site, make sure to communicate your tolerance levels.

When it comes to an effective and non-invasive option to supplement your existing workout regimen, consider the TruFlex treatment by Cutera. In what seems like a never ending schedule of things to do, having the ability to add a new layer of body contouring is always a bonus. The results are noticeable and from our POV, you do see results after the treatments.
Gent’s Post Editor Samir Mourani had the opportunity to visit Body MedSculpt at Yonge and Eglinton in Toronto and experienced four sessions of ab toning and arm sculpting. The staff were extremely friendly and knowledgeable which was great because he, of course, had plenty of questions. Now there are some things to be mindful of. Firstly, the treatments are not invasive at all. They can however be intense, depending on your fitness level, so be sure to vocalize with the facilitator whether the intensity is too much. Also, if you are ticklish, be prepared as it can trigger some of that! Additionally, it’s perfectly normal to see your body twitch, remember that your muscles are being put to work. The best part is that you’re doing far more contractions in fifteen minutes than you could realistically do in several gym sessions.

Samir’s recommendation would be to treat this as a complimentary piece to your general workout routine as opposed to replacing it altogether. He noticed immediate differences in his arms in particular around tonality and growth and improvements in his core particularly around those hard to remove love handles. So this treatment does come as advertised. While you will experience some soreness, the recovery time is nil. So as long as you are physically up for it, you can go back to your regular fitness routine the next day. Overall, Gent’s Approved.
Benefits of body sculpting
Improved Body Composition
One of the primary benefits of body sculpting is improved body composition. It helps you decrease body fat percentage while increasing lean muscle mass. This transformation not only enhances your appearance but also boosts your metabolism, making it easier to maintain a healthy weight.
Enhanced Muscle Definition
Body sculpting involves targeted strength training exercises that work specific muscle groups. Over time, this can lead to improved muscle definition and increased muscle tone. Whether you’re looking to sculpt your arms, legs, or core, body sculpting can help you achieve the desired results.
Increased Strength and Endurance
Regular body sculpting workouts involve resistance training, which increases your strength and endurance. As you progress, you’ll find everyday tasks become easier, and you have more energy for physical activities you enjoy.

Achieving your desired body shape and fitness goals can have a profound impact on your self-esteem and confidence. Feeling comfortable and confident in your own skin can positively influence various aspects of your life, from personal relationships to professional success.
Better Posture and Balance
Body sculpting exercises often emphasize core strength and stability. As a result, you can experience improved posture and balance. This not only reduces the risk of injury but also helps you carry yourself with more poise and grace.
Stress Reduction
Exercise, including body sculpting, is an excellent stress reliever. It releases endorphins, which are natural mood lifters, and helps you manage stress more effectively. Regular workouts can lead to improved mental clarity and reduced anxiety levels.
The benefits of body sculpting extend far beyond the physical transformation, encompassing mental and emotional well-being as well. Whether you’re looking to shed a few pounds, tone specific areas, or simply lead a healthier lifestyle, body sculpting offers a comprehensive and sustainable approach to achieving your goals. So, take the first step, embrace body sculpting, and sculpt the best version of yourself. Your body will thank you for it.
