As the holiday season unfolds, it’s the perfect time to reflect on what it means to be a modern gentleman. We’re proud to share with you today’s MODERN GENTS, presented by Angel’s Envy, Canada’s number one super-premium bourbon. A celebration of individuality, style, and the art of pairing fashion with finely crafted cocktails. Where we handpicked these five (5) remarkable individuals, each embodying the essence of a Modern Gent, to partake in this very special campaign.

Pairing each of these Modern Gents with custom cocktails created by Angel’s Envy Finished Whiskeys brand ambassador Lucas Twyman, and styled by our friends at GotStyle, each Gents brought their unique flair to the table. Together, they remind us that self expression today is as diverse and bold as the world of bourbon we enjoy.

Ashkan Hobian’s a creative director and content creator who brings a minimalist, polished aesthetic to the MODERN GENTS campaign. His style is marked by clean lines and subtle accessories—an approach that mirrors his love for lighter, floral flavours in cocktails.

How would you describe your style?

“Modern, minimalist with subtle retro influences,” says Ashkan Hobian.

Based on Ash’s preferences, Lucas crafted him this custom cocktail:

Cocktail Recipe: Port of Envy Cocktail

Ingredients:
  • 1.5 oz, Angel’s Envy Bourbon Finished in Port Barrels
  • 0.5 oz, St. Germain Elderflower Liqueur
  • 0.5 oz, Ruby Port
  • 3 dashes, black walnut bitters
  • Ginger beer, to top
  • Candied ginger to garnish
Instructions:
  • Stir all ingredients except the ginger beer.
  • Strain into a glass
  • Top with ginger beer
  • Garnish with candied ginger.

Custom suit clothier Natasha Morén-Espinoza is one of the few female custom clothiers that is truly a trailblazing champion for sharp modern tailoring with a nostalgic flair, for all. Their cocktail is as vibrant and multifaceted as their Peaky Blinders-inspired aesthetic.

“Peaky Blinders-inspired, with a vintage, dapper edge.” says Natasha Morén-Espinoza.

Based on Natasha’s preferences, Lucas crafted her this custom cocktail:

Cocktail recipe: Summer Lion

Ingredients:
  • 2 oz, Angel’s Envy Bourbon Finished in Port Barrels
  • 0.5 oz, allspice dram
  • 0.75 oz, ginger syrup
  • 0.25 oz, simple syrup
  • 1 oz, lemon juice
  • 1 dash, absinthe and saline
  • Mint sprig to garnish
Instructions:
  • Line rock glass with strawberry slices.
  • Shake and strain into glass lined
  • Garnish with a mint sprig.

Cocktail recipe: Revolver

Ingredients:
  • 2 oz, Angel’s Envy Bourbon Finished in Port Barrels
  • 0.5 oz, coffee liqueur
  • 2 dashes, orange bitters
  • Maraschino cherry and flamed orange peel to garnish
Instructions:
  • Stir, and strain over ice
  • Garnish with a flamed orange peel and maraschino cherry.

Ingredients:

  • 1 oz, fresh lemon juice
  • 0.75 oz, raspberry syrup
  • 1, egg white
  • 1 dash, Angostura bitters
Instructions:
  • Dry shake all ingredients
  • Strain into a coupe glass
  • Garnish with Angostura bitters
