Welcome to Episode 58 of the Gent’s Talk podcast, where we sat down with Bryson Moore. If you’re a sneakerhead, you may recognize him by his handle @BryceKicks. Bryson is a digital creator whose rise to YouTube fame comes from content surrounding shoes, mainly reviews. He’s also added reviews for watches/accessories/headgear to his arsenal and the ever-popular GRWM (Get Ready With Me) short-form video content. We discussed his favourite kicks, what it takes to become a full-time content creator and the importance of focusing on a specific niche.
100K!
With over 120K subscribers, Bryson makes a living from YouTube. Surprisingly, he was a full-time content creator well before hitting the 100K mark. Moore had no photography or editing background (in hindsight, he admitted he should have taken a course in college) when he started. All he had was a passion for shoes and a commitment to posting consistently. He talked candidly about his very first video, where he only had his dad’s camera. Nothing but him and the content he wanted to shoot; no microphone or tripod. He reiterated that content is king and stated that value-driven content is the number one thing to focus on.
YouTube Grind
As he learned through trial and error, you don’t have to post daily, but YouTube does rewards consistency. Bryson believes that YouTube is the most straightforward path to monetization and forewarns that you will not succeed overnight. “YouTube is a grind,” he stated. Bryson (as well as Netflix) pointed out that thumbnails are crucial to virality. He commented that according to the data, people are drawn to faces, so he makes a conscious note to include his face on his thumbnails prominently.

Another misconception debunked is the notion that the more subscribers you have, the more money you’ll make. Subscribers alone do not determine success on YouTube, so Bryson suggests focusing on your niche and engaging with your followers consistently. A brand is more willing to partner up with someone who has fewer subscribers but high engagement versus the other way around.
Moore, More Apparel
Bryson started his YouTube page over five years ago, so if you’re a content creator just starting out, be patient. Content and consistency are key. Good luck! Please tune into Episode 58 for the entire conversation with Bryson Moore as he breaks down which apps you should download to help kickstart your content creation lifestyle, AI’s role in the future, and his clothing line, More Apparel.
