Welcome to Episode 60 of the Gent’s Talk podcast, where we sat down with Dom Gabriel. Dom was introduced to the world via his appearance on The Mole. Still, it wasn’t until he emerged on Netflix’s Perfect Match that viewers fell in love with his vulnerability and authenticity. The musician/reality star-turned-influencer has had an incredibly successful year, and he discussed his recent rise to social media superstardom with us. We also spoke about achieving real happiness and the importance of finding your purpose.
Don’t Call Dom
It’s always a breath of fresh air to sit down with someone who is truly authentic to themselves. Dom Gabriel, neurodiverse tendencies and all, is just that. He embraces his ADHD and acknowledges his social anxiety in a way that resonates well with his many followers. He spoke about being a social media influencer, which he has struggled with because his social battery wears out really fast.
Make The World Better
Making the world a better place is a topic that arose quite a few times during our conversation. Dom strongly believes that we all have a gift in this life. “It’s all about finding out what that gift is and sharing it with the world to make it a better place,” he stated. As an influencer, Gabriel aims to do that. He believes that part of the problem is that many influencers do not use their platform to impact lives. Dom seeks to use his resources to help people and to build his legacy as a man of colour who helped push gender/societal norms.
As Gabriel started to gain notoriety, it was challenging. Mainly, as he described, because he was being recognized as ‘that guy who cried on tv.’ He mentioned how although people were making fun of him, he began to realize that being so vulnerable is what men resonated with, even if they had extreme difficulty vocalizing that publicly. Listen as Gabriel speaks about a chance encounter at a barbershop in LA that helped reassure him that he is on the right path.

Find Your Superpower
If you take anything away from this episode: use your vulnerability as a strength. It was the same expressions of vulnerability Dom used to get teased for that he is now being praised because of. The difficulty arises when men show emotions and get ridiculed and/or rejected. His advice, lean into what you used to be bullied for. He admits that putting guards up is needed but stresses that we must find a balance.
Please tune into Episode 60 for the entire conversation with Dom Gabriel as he sings high praise to his mother, his biggest supporter, and watch his face light up at the mention of him becoming a father.
