Welcome to Episode 65 of the Gent’s Talk podcast. We got to sit with billionaire entrepreneur and real estate developer Moishe Mana. The founder and chairman of Mana Common chatted with us about the transformation of Miami’s downtown core. He has converted the previously neglected Flagler Street (now Miami’s most famous corridor) into a global hub for tech and innovation. By building communities, not just houses, Mana’s goal is to bridge the gap and become an axis point between the America’s.
Location, location, location
Mana Common was built as a platform for urban revitalization and community building. Mana uses six pillars (Property, Commerce, Culture, Technology, Agriculture, and Social Impact) to represent the elements upon which a healthy community is created. The goal is to build infrastructure to support business, culture, technology, and education in the 21st century. Regarding why he decided on Miami, Moishe stated it’s still all about location but emphasized that following your gut/instinct is essential.

Success and setting goals
Listen as Moishe speaks on being stuck and needing to take a step back to re-assess. This re-evaluation took nine years, proving that taking time to look at the big picture is vital. “When you don’t have a goal [ahead of you], you start to go side-to-side,” Moishe remarked, “and many times you go backwards… and that’s exactly what happened.”
Mana came to America with nothing and is a true “rag-to-riches” story. When asked if he doubted he’d make it to this point, he answered confidently, “No.” “There was no other option,” he stated. He believes that money is only a tiny element of success. How you feel, if you’re a better person, and how you impact lives are some of the other aspects he measures success by. He made a note to say that people are remembered for the impact they have on people, not the money they have accumulated.
Advice for entrepreneurs
Mana knows firsthand how to scale a business and provided some insight. He admitted that money can be a factor but stressed the importance of treating people with respect. His advice for entrepreneurs: “If you don’t know what to do, take time to think about it.” He stressed that we must start somewhere and not think about what we want to do at home. “Do something while thinking about what you want to do,” Mana mentioned. He said it’s best to think about what you want to do at your job so you’re not procrastinating. “People who don’t decide, don’t go anywhere.”
Please tune into Episode 65 for the entire conversation with philanthropist Moishe Mana as he explains how money is worth nothing. Mana’s focus on what he wants and can create versus what he has, has separated him from the “small souls” stuck solely on money. “What is money? It is [just] paper.”
