If you’re planning a getaway trip to Toronto, you want a hotel that could provide a blend of luxury, convenience, and an authentic experience of the city’s vibrant atmosphere. The InterContinental Toronto Centre, an IHG property, perfectly fits that bill. Nestled in the heart of downtown, this hotel not only offered world-class amenities but also placed me within walking distance of Toronto’s top attractions. I had the opportunity to experience a mini staycation at the InterContinental so here’s a detailed look at my stay, from the exquisite amenities to the nearby must-see sights.

A warm welcome and refined accommodations
From the moment I arrived, the staff exuded warmth and professionalism. Check-in was seamless, and the lobby, with its sophisticated design and ambient lighting, immediately set the tone for what I knew would be a luxurious stay.

My room was a mixture of comfort and elegance. The suite was spacious and the view was incredible. Nestled behind, or in front of (depending on who you ask), the CN Tower, Rogers Centre and Ripley’s Aquarium, Toronto’s skyline illuminates. Plus it’s always fun watching planes take off and land, without the noise of course.
The bathroom was equally impressive, featuring a deep soaking tub and a rainfall shower, both designed to wash away the fatigue of travel. High-quality toiletries, fluffy towels, and a generously sized vanity area added to the experience, making it feel like a personal spa retreat.
Unparalleled Amenities
Speaking of spas, the InterContinental Toronto Centre is not just a place to rest your head; it’s a destination in itself. One of the standout amenities was the hotel’s full-service spa, Spa InterContinental. I indulged in a signature massage that reminded me why I need to book more of these. Toronto is a loud city, the hustle and bustle of the streets surrounding the hotel can be a lot at times. So the spa’s serene environment, with soft music and calming scents, was the escape I was looking for.

For fitness enthusiasts, myself included, the hotel offers a state-of-the-art fitness center, complete with cardio machines, free weights, and even personal training sessions upon request.
Azure
Dining at the hotel was an experience in itself. When I get asked which restaurants to recommend downtown I rarely, if ever, suggest a hotel-based option. That’s changed after visiting Azure Restaurant & Bar. Located within the hotel, it offered a diverse menu that highlighted local ingredients and international flavours.
The standout piece was just how fresh everything was and carefully crafted. Refrigerators on display showing fresh produce and our server for dinner Tamika was absolutely incredible. Have to give credit where credit is due. Thanks for the pizza recommendation. Breakfast each morning was a delightful start to the day, with options ranging from fresh pastries to made-to-order omelets. The service was impeccable, with staff attentive to every detail.

One of the biggest advantages of staying at the InterContinental Toronto Centre is its unbeatable location. Situated in the heart of downtown, the hotel is within walking distance of some of Toronto’s most iconic attractions. Ripley’s Aquarium, located right next to the CN Tower, is a fantastic experience, especially for families or anyone interested in marine life.
For those interested in culture, the Royal Ontario Museum and Art Gallery of Ontario are just a short cab ride away. Both institutions offer an incredible array of exhibits, from ancient artifacts to contemporary art, making them must-see stops on any trip to Toronto. The hotel’s proximity to the entertainment district means easy access to world-class theatres, bars, and restaurants.
