The 2023 NHL Heritage Classic took place this past weekend at Commonwealth Stadium where the Edmonton Oilers and Calgary Flames took center stage at the seventh instalment of this annual game. Anytime you mix hockey and outdoors, you know it’s going to be a cold one so it was no surprise to see the fellas and their families decked out in Woodpecker gear to keep them warm.

A family affair
As is tradition with the Tim Horton’s Heritage Classic, the day before the game the players and their families will go for a skate on the ice. It adds a nice personal touch to the already important affair. “Woodpecker coats are thrilled to have had the opportunity to keep the Calgary Flames players’ families warm and stylish during the Heritage hockey game,” notes Woodpecker founder Will Poho. “After all, what could be more Canadian than hockey and winter coats?”
Heritage Classic
It was a win for the hometown team as the Oilers won the game 5-2. The sellout crowd was loud which was to be expected after a sellout of 55,411 braving the cold at the 2023 Tim Hortons Heritage Classic.
