Diwali Night with the Vancouver Canucks
At the beginning of November, the Vancouver Canucks announced nine Community and Fan engagement celebrations for the first half of the hockey season. Kicking off the festivities on November 15th, is Diwali Night. Celebrate with the Canucks at the Rogers Centre before they face the New York Islanders with a pre-game party on the north plaza with a live DJ, bhangra performances and more. You can even check out the market full of local South Asian businesses and food samples!
“We are proud of the role we play connecting and celebrating our diverse community and fanbase through these special nights, and are excited for this season’s events,” said Michael Doyle, President, Canucks Sports & Entertainment, Business Operations. “These celebrations highlight and inform our fans about some incredible causes and initiatives; using our hockey platform to help amplify and support a multitude of communities. Our entire organization is excited to make these nights a memorable occasion for all who attend.”
Artist Jessie Sohpaul designed the Cancuck’s Diwali logo and claims “Diwali is not just for South Asians. Its message is universal. Because of this, I wanted the design to be more modern and not lean exclusively into typical Diwali themes.”
