Fat Joe makes a surprise performance at that Nostalgia revival party—later joined by Drake

Nostalgia’s revival took place this past weekend in Toronto after a three-year hiatus and the night was filled with laughter, an OG hip hop icon and the Six God himself. The evening began with an invite-only 1:1 sit down with Fat Joe and hosted by Tyrone Edwards to a group of emerging talent, managers and more from the city before the Nostalgia party was brought back to life for one epic night of music and culture.

This event, a cultural touchstone in the city for over 18 years, united music aficionados in an evening that transcended mere reminiscence. It was not only a nostalgic journey but also a compelling testament to the notion that certain experiences improve as they age.

So when the opportunity to revive this important cultural event came up, it was only fitting that a rap icon and the Champagne Papi made special appearances. The night began with an unexpected performance by American rapper Fat Joe, electrifying the atmosphere with his beloved hits. However, the real surprise came when Toronto’s superstar, Drake, casually entered to join the audience.

The excitement peaked when Drake unexpectedly stormed the stage, launching into a spontaneous two-hour jam session, stunning everyone. Edwards and Drake dedicated the latter part of the night to riffing on each other’s throwbacks, energizing the audience, honouring the original artists, and sharing their individual ties to each song.
