Switzerland
The story of On begins in Zurich, Switzerland over a decade ago with the aim of changing the world of running. This is where Olivier Bernhard, David Allemann and Caspar Coppetti engineered what On claims to be the perfect symbiosis of running and precise engineering.
The Products
At GP, we had the opportunity to test out a series of On products that included the Roger Centre Court, the Cloudventure Waterproof as well as some apparel. The full package if you will.
Durability and weather resistant. The hallmark for any trail runner. As a trail runner myself, it’s important to know you can navigate difficult terrains without having to worry about your shoe falling apart. The confidence you gain from weaving through obstacles with precision and stability is what makes the the Cloudventure Waterproof shoe an automatic favorite.
In early July of this year, On announced a partnership with legendary tennis icon Roger Federer and thus, the Roger Centre Court shoe was born. So of course, trying it out was a must. Having a white sneaker that you can wear comfortably with a sporty edge is a staple in any gent’s closet. With a thick sole, this shoe gives you style and comfort.
Verdict
On has combined utility with design and aesthetic and it works. The shoes are comfortable and built to withstand long-term use. The apparel is soft, the fabric is light and breathable. So if you’re a runner of some kind or are even looking to get started on your journey, On should be in your consideration.
Verdict: Gent’s Approved.
