The game is finally here. Spider-Man 2 makes its highly anticipated debut and to nobody’s surprise, already receiving plenty of praise. From the in-game graphics to the storyline, the game delivers on quality and entertainment. Peter Parker and Miles Morales are back to save New York from swaths of Marvel’s villains so get your gamers chair ready because you’re going to be in this a while. With all the game offers, whether you’re a spidey die-hard fan, or even looking for a game to keep you engaged, you will want to consider Spider-Man 2.

Swinging into the record book
Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has already sold more than 2.5 million copies within the first 24 hours of its launch. This makes it the fastest-selling PlayStation Studios game in Playstation history. An incredible feat considering the incredible titles the studio has previously put out. The game was developed by Insomniac Games in collaboration with Playstation Studios and Marvel Games.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 continues PlayStation Studios’ high-quality production. Players can swing, jump, and soar using the new Web Wings to travel across an expanded Marvel’s New York. The PS5 console’s lightning-fast SSD allows for near-instant switching between Peter Parker and Miles Morales. And players can experience iconic stories and epic new powers as they battle against new and iconic Marvel Super Villains. “One of the game’s themes of ‘Be Greater Together’ is something we really took seriously with our collaborations,” Meah Benage, Manager of Global Brand Partnerships at Sony Interactive Entertainment says. “Both of these Spider-Men need to lean on each other and those closest to them, in order to save the day. That was how we also looked at our collaborations. How can we — Sony Interactive, Marvel, Disney, Insomniac Games — all collectively be strong together and help drive that story and message to Spider-Man fans.”
Gent’s Approved
Here’s my initial review of this game after several hours playing it. The smooth transition between characters is done quite well. The graphics are incredible and New York looks great. The attention to detail, the intractability with objects shows a precision focus by game developers on the little details. With all that being said, there’s no greater feeling than swinging through New York as Spider-Man in the same way I’d dream up doing it as a kid. This game both pleases the nostalgic kid inside and keeps present adult me highly entertained. Definitely Gent’s Approved.
