Welcome to Episode 63 of the Gent’s Talk podcast, where we once again got to sit down with Tychon Carter, brought to you by Philips Sonicare. It’s been quite a few months since we last spoke with Tychon, and the public figure has been busy. We went into great detail about grooming and touched on habit forming. We left our last conversation eagerly awaiting his very first mental wellness panel, and we got to speak to him about the success of Can We Normalize That?
Can we normalize that?
Tychon is on a mission to help others fall in love with themselves and wants people to become their best versions as he strives to do the same. He aims to lead by example, and Can We Normalize That? was his first in-person panel intending to normalize vulnerability. He thanked his panelists, Ika Wong, Jully Black and Akil Augustine, for helping him initiate the dialogue about Mental Wellness for Media Personalities. Carter talked about how his insecurities kept creeping up and how he almost didn’t go through with the event. Ultimately, he expressed gratitude for following through with the hugely successful night. “For the coldest month of the year, that room was so warm.”
Skincare
Listen as Tychon talks about the importance of a proper skincare routine. “Skincare is not just for women,” he mentioned, “it’s skin.” As an influencer, he takes pride in normalizing men taking care of themselves, not just physically. “Mental health is health. Self-care is health. Self-maintenance is health,” he mentioned. Carter told us that the consistency of your skincare routine is just as important as the application. He advised those struggling to start somewhere. He even gave us some pointers on better skin care.

Gifts!
Amongst the laundry list of projects Tychon has on his plate, he recently partnered with Philips. To our surprise, Carter came bearing gifts! We were able to take home a Sonicare Prestige 9900 Power Toothbrush with SenseIQ and a Philips Sonicare Cordless Power Flosser 3000! This toothbrush/flosser combination, as explained by Tychon, will change how teeth are brushed! He also touched on dental hygiene’s role in our mental (and physical) health, and men should floss more regularly.
Please tune into Episode 63 for the entire conversation with Tychon Carter as he explains how he balances recreational and professional social media use and his most significant takeaways from Atomic Habits by James Clear.
