Marvel introduces a new chapter with Ironheart
After first appearing in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Riri is back and ready to shake things up. Set in the aftermath of that film, Ironheart follows her return to her hometown of Chicago, where her cutting-edge inventions clash with unexpected mystical forces. Enter Parker Robbins, aka “The Hood” (played by Anthony Ramos), a complex antagonist who brings dark magic into Riri’s high-tech world.

“Ironheart is such a great character in publishing,” says executive producer Ryan Coogler. Created in 2016 by Brian Michael Bendis, Riri Williams was envisioned as a successor to Iron Man—an MIT prodigy with a humble background, brought to life in recent years by writers like Eve Ewing who rooted her story deeply in Chicago culture.
With a cast featuring Lyric Ross, Alden Ehrenreich, Manny Montana, and more, and led by head writer Chinaka Hodge, Ironheart promises to deliver a fresh voice and a powerful narrative. Directors Sam Bailey and Angela Barnes helm episodes with music by Dara Taylor, rounding out a creative team set to make Marvel Ironheart a standout series.
With Ironheart, Marvel continues to expand its on-screen universe, offering a story that blends youthful ambition with broader questions around innovation, identity, and power. Whether it resonates with audiences remains to be seen when it launches this summer.
