Whistler just unlocked a new benchmark in alpine luxury — and it comes poured neat, stirred with intention, and served fireside. Tucked inside the Four Seasons Resort and Residences Whistler — recently named #1 Resort in Canada by Travel + Leisure and honoured with two MICHELIN Keys — The Library by The Macallan bar has returned for its third year, bolder and more immersive than ever.
What began as a seasonal Scotch whisky salon has evolved into one of the country’s most coveted après-ski experiences. Reopened on November 21st, the 2025 iteration introduces a refreshed design language laced with deeper reds, richer textures, and an unmistakably The Macallan sense of drama. Think: glowing amber tones, jewel-like bottles displayed like art pieces, and the kind of moody warmth that makes you sink a little deeper into your club chair.

A one-of-a-kind Scotch whisky experience you won’t find anywhere else in Canada
Designed in partnership with The Macallan, the space feels like a winter sanctuary — equal parts mountain lodge and private members’ whisky room. But it’s the offering that truly sets it apart: this is the only place in the country where certain rare expressions — including the ultra-exclusive M Collection — can be tasted by the ounce.

Shelves gleam with more than a dozen of The Macallan’s finest bottlings, from the Double Cask range to Sherry Oak 30 and TIME:SPACE Mastery. For serious enthusiasts, the bar’s new private bottle lockers add a layer of exclusivity, allowing select guests to store a rare bottle for future visits — a luxe touch rarely seen in Canada’s après-ski scene.

Cocktails designed for winter nights in Whistler
This year’s menu brings six signature cocktails, each built around The Macallan’s natural colour and sherry-cask heritage. Highlights include:
- Aurora – crisp, radiant, and zesty with cacao, pear, and spiced lime
- Cloud Atlas – velvety, candied, and crowned with a Sherry Oak foam
- Old Fashioned de la Frontera – bold, refined, and golden raisin–kissed
- Shadow Oak – dark, rich, and caramelized with banana and coffee
- Silent Bloom (zero-proof) – bright, delicate, and refreshing

Each cocktail reads like a sensory story — from luminous and crisp to opulent and brooding — mirroring the natural spectrum of The Macallan’s own hues.

A tasting that redefines the meaning of “elevated”
As part of our visit to check out the new design, we had a guided comparison of The Macallan Double Cask 18-Year-Old across three (3) vessels — a classic rocks glass, a traditional dram, and a bespoke stemless glass handcrafted by LALIQUE. Although not available to everyday guests, unfortunately.
The difference was astonishing: each glass shape unlocked new aromatics, amplifying different tasting notes. It’s the kind of experience you don’t forget — intimate, sensory, and deeply rooted in craft. Something you should definitely keep in mind when enjoying your finest spirits at home. But luckily when visiting The Library by The Macallan, they have only the finest glassware in store.

Canada’s most exclusive après-ski lounge
With only 20-seats, The Library remains one of the hardest-to-book winter experiences in Whistler. Guests can savour neat pours from slow-melting ice spheres, indulge in premium cocktails served in gold leaf–rimmed glassware, or embark on rare Scotch whisky flights that rival the world’s best lounges.

An elevated snack menu — including luxurious pairings like Kaviari caviar with gaufrette chips — completes the ritual.
