Calvin McDonald, CEO of lululemon, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership’s growth, “For Paris 2024, we embraced the chance to deepen our ties with the athletes representing Canada globally. Our design approach was innovation-led, crafted from direct athlete insights to ensure optimal performance and comfort in Paris. We are honored to support these exceptional individuals and teams as they proudly represent our country.”
The Team Canada x lululemon Paris 2024 Athlete Kit merges functionality with style, featuring innovative designs, performance-enhancing fabrics, and modern Canadian-themed prints. Damian Warner, Olympic Decathlon Champion and lululemon Ambassador, shared his excitement about the new kit, “This will be my fourth Olympics, and I’ve never seen a kit like this. It allows us to express our personal style while showcasing our Canadian pride.”
The kit’s development involved extensive collaboration with 19 Canadian Olympic and Paralympic athletes across 14 sports, focusing on understanding and addressing their specific needs during the Games. Zak Madell, a lululemon Ambassador and Team Canada Wheelchair Rugby Player, noted, “lululemon’s commitment to inclusivity and adaptability in the designs ensures that we not only look good but feel good. This attention to detail makes the kit an essential part of my daily wardrobe.”
Key features of the Athlete Kit include:
- Adaptability: Designs include magnetic-close zippers and sensory touch guides, enhancing accessibility for more bodies and abilities. Notably, the Seated-Fit Carpenter Pant and Seated-Fit Packable Rain Poncho are tailored for functionality and comfort in a seated position.
- Thermal Comfort: Adjustable styles and SenseKnit™ technology help manage body temperature and enhance breathability, ensuring athletes remain comfortable in varying conditions.
- Fit & Function: The inclusion of four-way stretch fabrics and engineered pockets enhances movement and personalization.
- National Pride: Canadian-inspired prints and modern silhouettes allow athletes to celebrate their heritage and share their journey with pride.
In addition to outfitting athletes, lululemon is extending its support through the Future Legacy program. Ten percent of sales from Future Legacy items will benefit the Canadian Olympic Foundation and Paralympic Foundation of Canada, aiding athletes in their journey from dreams to podium.
The Retail Collection, including select items like the Team Canada Ball Cap, Scarf, and Mini Belt Bag, is available to fans in Canada online, and from April 17 in stores. U.S. and Paris will see launches closer to the Games.
