SXSW Film & TV Festival has revealed various categories for its 2024 event, encompassing the Opening Night TV Premiere, Centerpiece Screening, and more. The highly anticipated Netflix series “3 Body Problem,” executive produced and written by David Benioff, D. B. Weiss, and Alexander Woo, is set to premiere as the Opening Night TV Premiere. The festival will also feature the debut of the film adaptation of the 1980s series “The Fall Guy,” directed by David Leitch and starring Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt, as the Centerpiece Screening.
The announced lineup, with more details to come in early February, includes world premieres such as Season 3 of “Hacks,” Pamela Adlon’s “Babes,” and the Mark Wahlberg-produced documentary “MoviePass, MovieCrash” exploring the downfall of MoviePass.
In addition to the headliners, narrative and documentary feature competitions, narrative spotlight, documentary spotlight, midnighters, and other categories will showcase a diverse range of films and TV shows from around the world. The festival is scheduled for March 8-16 in Austin, Texas, and will feature speakers such as Rosario Dawson, Alex Cooper, Dr. Ibram X. Kendi, Peter Deng, and Matt Kaplan, along with the iHeartPodcast Awards.
